Hi

Can any editors recommend what budget digital film editing software to use on a PC?

Thanks

Hi Michael

I use Davinci Resolve. The free version does nearly everything I need right now (maybe voice isolation and better upscaling would be nice) and if one day I get the studio version its just a one off cost.

Also loads of tutorials out there.

The only drawbacks are maybe a bit of a learning curve (I am certainly still learning) but most of the time the answer is a quick google away and it might be a resource hog but then they all are - use proxies

I agree, Resolve. I am actually an AVID editor but for the feature set Resolve is the best value on the market. The free version will give you pretty much everything you could possibly want and it plays well with other systems.

Blackmagic have some good tutorials online but there are plenty of others too.

NB Udemi do a course in Video Editing in DaVinci Resolve with Color Correction & Color Grading. They usually offer quite decent discounts to buy the course.

There'a Kindle bargain here too for Colourists https://www.amazon.co.uk/Colorist-Guide-DaVinci-Resolve-18-ebook/dp/B0BX73PJ59/ref=sr_1_3?crid=3SATHF07TGFLE&keywords=davinci+resolve+18&qid=1678451019&s=books&sprefix=DaVinci+Resolve%2Cstripbooks%2C101&sr=1-3
