Remote Colourist Available

5 years, 4 months ago - Lee Robinson

Hi All,

I hope everyone is staying safe during these strange and unprecedented times. This global emergency has certainly thrown a spanner in the works for everyone in our industry.

However, like many others in post production, I'm fortunately in a position to work remotely and continue to provide my services as a freelance colourist to anyone who may have completed production/ editing in the last few weeks.

I've always had a great relationship with the shooters on this platform, and I hope that we can still find a way to collaborate and work together despite all the chaos out in the world.

If you haven't come across any of my previous posts - you can find out more about me and my work by visiting:

www.oneboymedia.co.uk

For a whole host of projects, portfolio and testimonials.

Or just check out my showreel here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0l_OSIR3Xzg

Thanks everyone - Stay safe out there, and I'm sure we'll all be back to business as usual soon!

Quarantined Regards,

Lee

My experience of remote colour grading is that it takes a lot longer, particularly for longer projects, because you've got versions going back and forth between colourist and director. And specific adjustments that should take minutes or at most a couple of hours may take days for the colourist to turn around. This is my experience.

Hi Davina - there is an element of time built into the remote colour workflow, that's true, however, being based in the north, I've had many, many remote grades with directors based in London (in fact, recently I've completed remote work for directors in USA and across Europe) and all have gone smoothly. With no significant delays or issues. Everyone happy.

But yes, sitting in a suite, close quarters, with a colourist will always be the preferred method of working.

However, in light of current global events - perhaps this is not for everyone?

I can personally vouch for Lee and say I was very impressed with his work on my short film 'Little'

His eye, attitude and execution is pure excellence!

I look forward to working with him again in the future - this is an offer you cannot refuse!!!!
