INDEXScreenwriting Coaching Suggestions
5 years ago - Tireni Dada
Hello,
I was wondering if anyone had any advice on screenwriting coaching programmes to get involved with? I am aware of Script Angel, has anyone used this service? If so, would they be able to let me know their thoughts please?
Any advice or review of Script Angel, or any other screenwriting coaching services would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Tireni Dada

Hi Tireni,
I used Script Angel a couple of years ago to develop my TV writing skills and understanding. I invested in 18 months which resulted in 3 projects being developed (and another 2 started and completed after that). I was fortunate to have Hayley McKenzie as my tutor/mentor and the turnaround of scripts and edits was a three week cycle which worked out at about 8 per six month cycle but it may be different these days and I could manage it as I was only working one day a week . Let me say, it will cost you financially so my advice would be to make sure that you know the basics in advance - whatever short courses you can do for free (or cheap) do them first then use SA to get your projects up to professional industry standard. All the best!

Sorry Tireni, I just realised your question was made in regard to screenwriting and not TV writing - same applies except I would say there are loads of other companies out there who offer s/w services such as Euroscript. Obviously, I don't know what stage you are at in your writing. Please feel free to personal message me on SP and we can talk on phone as I am in the middle of writing a treatment right now :-)

If you are looking for a Los Angeles screenwriting consultant, there's:
-- Danny Manus (No Bullscript Consulting),
-- Lee Jessup,
-- Jen Grisanti,
-- Donald H. Hewitt,
-- Barri Evans,
-- Christopher Vogler (The Writers Journey) for structure, and
-- David Trottier (The Screenwriter's Bible) for formatting.
They are all widely considered fabulous.
I also consult on referral.
