Seeking an old looking warehouse in Bristol? If not, tips & advice for asking Landlords?

Hey Everyone,
I'm currently in Pre prod for a new music video, we have no budget and we need to start filming soon. The hardest thing we've come across, is securing a location.

We've looking for an old looking Warehouse, and would require it for one day of filming for a few hours. We may need it for a second day, preferably in the evening. I'm based in Weston Super Mare, but willing to travel to Bristol. Because we have no budget it's been a real struggle to find one, so hopefully you guys could help me out!

If not, does anyone have any tips or advice to sweet talk the landlords onto our side? I would be so grateful!

Try The Bottleyard. A lot of production had moved down there and they have a lot of bare industrial build spaces. You can probably rent kit there easily too. I doubt it'll be free, but they're often happy to do deals

Good luck! Problem with warehouses is they're often vacant for a reason - no power, loos, maybe unsafe, no insurance, etc., so you'll likely have to pay more for a vacant one than for a working one once you factor all the costs with getting those amenities and paying for security staff to open up.

It's a shame - Weston had some awesome disused properties around Dolphin Square, bowling rink, TJ Hughes, that place on the seafront with the Grand Central clock, etc - they'd have been the kind of characterful location money couldn't buy ;-) There must be others, but do be aware it's going to be hard to make a realistic commercial proposition for a landlord for a truly vacant property.

You could try the commercial estates out of town and use a non-vacant one where you can appeal to the current lessees.

Ah rats, Bottleyards unavailable until early next year. Alas, the search continues...

Thank you, I've just emailed them! Fingers crossed it's not too expensive so I'll still be on the look out, but Tank house 3 looked ideal

Good News! I found a Warehouse space in Nailsea, a bit of a drive but it's worth it for the space, working electricity and everything. Its a shame Weston demolished all those buildings, it would of made my life much easier! Thank you for all your help anyway!

Brilliant, well found, and Nailsea isn't too far away at least! The train goes through it I think, I visit WSM every month or so, pretty sure it's one of the stops on the slow train!

Hope filming goes well :)
