Dear Shooters,
We're looking for an inexpensive studio or rehersal space for the weekend of 23 & 24th November to give a free screen acting master class for 15-20 people approx per session, two sessions each day, morning and afternoon for three hours. We launched our new screen acting YouTube Channel on Sunday @LASAct to show films celebrating all the past students that we have had the pleasure of working with over the years to make multi-award-winning short films that have screened, competed and won awards at international film festivals all around the world. The Channel presently features our first promo reel for our acting academy plus a dozen short films that we have directed over the years with screen acting students, many more to be added shortly. We are also now actively looking to secure a full time space for our intended screen acting Academy intending to launch early 2025, any ideas or suggestions by members would be very greatly appreciated.

London? If so check the studios in The Cockpit Theatre - if I remember correctly it’s reasonable rates.

Many thanks for the heads up A.L. greatly appreciated. Since we're intending to have regular mini-master classes in the future and since we intend to locate them at various venues around London we will therefore be making a database of all possible venues for use in the future. I'll add the CockPit Theatre.

V welcome, Ray. Also didn't note prices but Spotlight offices near (in?) Covent Garden - was at a recent Spotlight / Shooting People co-event there and they were showing folks around the studios. Cant remember prices but worth checking.

Again many thanks, I checked it out, really central but quite a bit more expensive, understandibly. I have added it to our list though. I was hoping that people might have got back to me with church halls or working mens clubs, or even some larger pubs with upper floors or function rooms social rooms that could be rented.

Maybe spotlight would offer discount / allow free use maybe at off-peak times to a friend such as a member of spotlight if they are running free workshops to actors including their own members? Worth inquiring into? A

Hi Ed,
Thank you for your email and the heads up, I have just emailed them, several other options are still to get back to me. The first one I approached three days ago now and I still haven't heard back from them.
Please keep further suggestions coming. Also importantly, any long term options please as we are still looking for a permanent home for our new screen acting school, preferably in South East London, ideally anywhere South East peripheral locations with good transport links like Deptford, Lewisham, Woolwich Arsenal, Abbeywood, Bexleyheath possibly even Dartford.

Hi A.L.,
Many thanks for that, greatly appreciated. So far only two venues have gotten back to me. The Vault's asked me did I have a budget, to which I replied yes, reiterating my request for availability and rate card and I haven't heard back from them since. 3 Mills also responded but with a quote of £450 per day, which for a intended free Masterclass seems a bit excessive ( which did include the rent of 20 folding chairs and a TV monitor), especially since the two times that I have been at the studio this year it's been completely empty of productions.
So really would appreciate any further suggestions please anyone.

Again, v welcome. Don't know if you're local enough for it to be convenient, and too late for your original dates, unfortunately, but this event might allow options to be explored with Spotlight's people or at least allow you assess the studios themselves, or even connect with others who might have spaces that would work?
