Seeking pre-war house film location in Oxfordshire

8 years, 6 months ago - Mike Lord

We are shooting a no/low-budget comedy short (for festival submission) in and around Oxford and Oxfordshire and need an older property (i.e. pre-WWII) for one day of shooting - interior shots.
It needs to have a medium or large sized sitting room and another room that is, or can be dressed as, a study or home office.
Because of lack of budget, I'm afraid we are unable to offer payment. However, credit given in film and DVD of finished film offered.
Any offers or suggestions gratefully received. Many thanks in advance.

Hi Mike,

I remember being involved in a shoot a few years ago at an abandoned Jewish boarding school called Carmel College in Oxfordshire. In addition to some amazing Children of Men style abandoned classrooms, etc. the main building was an older mock-medieval thing with a big drawing room with fireplace and several other rooms. No furniture at all so would need dressing which might be an issue on a budget... Good luck!

Hi Simon,

Yes, the name is good, isn't it!

Thanks for the link - amazing website!
Unfortunately, Carmel College is way too grand for our requirements for this project. Thanks anyway though.
