Shall I build a new video/mocap/photo studio in South London?

it's just an idea right now but...

I'm just about to move to Crystal Palace in SE London, and I'm going to have a big garden, so I'm considering building a photographic/greenscreen studio there.

It'd be a pretty small affair, but have backcloths and lights set up and (probably) motion capture. I run an animation/vfx company, so it's going to be useful in my work.

But, I'm thinking I could rent it to photographers, filmmakers, other animators, etc. to cover my costs and build contacts with local creative people...

so is this idea a goer or is it going to be more trouble than it's worth? - Is this the kind of thing you'd use and what do you think such a studio would need to make it worthwhile?

BTW: I've set up a facebook page to keep people updated on the progress of the idea so Friend and Like if you think it's something you want to hear about as I go along: www.facebook.com/anachronisticstudio

whether I go ahead and what I'll do will depend on what kind of response I get early on. Any ideas?

I'd say if you can make it work for yourself financially (ie you have the stills work to make it worthwhile compared with renting as required) then go for it - any extra money is gravy. If you don't, and you're hoping to pay for it from studio hires, sounds like a poor plan financially - London isn't short of studio space, especially in the extremities!
