Shooters in the Pub

I apologise to the current organisers of Shooters in the Pub in London before I start, please take my comments as suggestion for improvement rather than critism, because I can imagine it already is hard work to organise the whole thing in the first place.
That said, for a total stranger to attend their first Shooters in the Pub must be a horrible experience, for me it was and the 2 times I tried, I left after 10 minutes. You can accuse me of being shy, which I am, you can accuse me of not being good at communications, which I must be, but I found it impossible to even ask anyone in the pub, if they were there for the Shooters in the Pub. After all, there were no signs, no one was wearing a badge of some kind to let me know that one particular group or groups were there for this networking. The pub was full of different groups and I didn't want to bother each of them asking if they were the shooters in the pub. Even the bar people were not given any hints as to how they could help the first time comers.
It would be great to have some signs, or for organisers to wear some t-shirts or a badge, or at least, let the bar people know where the shooters are.

Hi Paddy & Emin,

Sorry you couldn't spot us at the pub last time! I'm going to be at Shooters in the Pub tonight from 6.30pm, it's at the Arts Theatre Club, 50 Frith Street. I'll be at the bar with lots of badges and flyers, so please come along and introduce yourselves :)

Hope to see you there!

Xenia

You could make it very simple - shooters in the pub must wear something yellow! Whether a hair accessory, jumper, scarf, yellow pencil sticking out of pocket, hat, Daffodil, etc., it would make it obvious to a newcomer (who should also wear yellow!) who was looking for it, but be less clumsy than badges!

Hey Paddy, Emin
Not everyone has something yellow, especially if they're coming straight from work it's just another thing to remember. We've got yellow badges that will always be out on the table so just pick one up and stick it on. We'll also come up to people looking a little lost to see if they are with us - might take more than a few minutes from someone walking in the door to spot them as lots of people to talk to.

If your worried about not knowing anyone there is a very active facebook group for the event, a good way to familiarise yourself with people if you don't want to show up without knowing anyone is to introduce yourself on there so you'll recognise some faces. https://www.facebook.com/groups/327855531117/
Tonight's meet up will be in the Arts Theatre Club on Frith St, it's a small place and whenever we meet there we take over the whole place so practically everyone in there will be for Shooters in the Pub.

Hope that helps,
Stephanie
