Struggling to Find the Right Producer for My Short - Any Advice?

I’ve been reaching out, networking, and putting calls out, but I’ve found it really tough to secure the right producer for the project. The script is complete, preproduction is underway, and I’ve had strong interest from crew - but I know this film needs a producer with the right vision and drive to get it moving. It’s a drama/romance/comedy with a touch of fantasy, exploring memory, time, and relationships

If anyone has advice on finding and approaching producers for shorts at this scale, or if you know someone who might be a good fit, I’d love to hear from you.

After a long career a s a broadcast television drama director with aditional producer credits on continuing drama, I switched my attention to writing screenplays for short drama films. I felt I wanted to work with the support of a producer. On the project that progressed to production, with a film caledd FREE AGAIN, now being submitted with some success to festivals, I had a response on Shooting People to my appeal for a producer to work with. On a prior shoirt film project, which didn't progress for other reasons, 2 students where I had guest lectured came on board. So, my advice would be, first to be quite clear what you need this producer to do. Then there are sites, such as this, whilst it lasts, to post your requirment. Then, you may find there are lecturers and / or students at numerous colleges occupied on film and television production courses who might be looking for an opportunity. it will be up to you to judge the suitable qualifications and experience to be the producer you seek, but one essential quality is energy and enthusiasm in your project.
