This is a documentary for a fly on the wall or a managed documentary. Follow a real-life UK Poet in a Car Showroom on his journey to debut at the Edinburgh Fringe in August 2025 with the publishing in June of his first book "The Car Showroom Poet" Anthology of Poetry, Prose and Commentaries. This poet is comedic with a flair for parody songwriting, his headline act Super Cali Lotus, is a parody of Mary Poppins delivered with a Dick Van Dyke flair. (Long Title Super Cali Aspirated Turbo Charging Lotus). Other parodies include Gloria Gaynor's I Will Survive, spoof "I Will Drive". Plus 2 Monty Python-inspired songs. His 45-minute show consists of an acting monologue 'American Car Mechanic' in a USA accent. Outstanding performance poetry of 'Showroom Wonder' and 'Make Amends' a reimagined Janis Joplin Mercedes-Benz song with the tagline Make Amends Buy Me a Mercedes-Benz. Looking from Jan 2025 to build a team for BFI and other funding proposals, to include documentary film makers, film companies, researchers etc to deliver the vision. This is made for TV talent, his entrance onto the fringe likely to create a media storm. Film & TV producers refer to this artists living persona as the "Ricky Gervais of Car Dealerships". The big reveal at the Fringe is an opportunity for original concept sitcoms cf The Office.
