I'm having a lot of fun writing at the moment for one particular actor.

I've long wanted to write a web series, for the simple reason that it's something I could then shoot. My problem was simple - I didn't have an idea that fitted the form - scope for 20+ episodes, of about 2 mins each, 1-2 people. When I write for myself I usually think in terms of stories that are Feature - Series length.

Then I met this actor - he came to me for the poetry project - (first day of fiilming for that is next week. Local college came on board so proper studio and everything, yea!).

So, this idea for a character sparked up, fully formed, specifically for this actor. I've written several episodes in less than a week and if I hit my target, we'll film a bunch in the autumn.

The purpose of this post?

1) Actors - if you want more material, hunt down writers and ply them with drinks. Let them get to know you. Beer is good, cheeky reds are better.

Trigger their imagination and they might invent a character that's totally you.

2) Writers - mingle with actors and actresses. You might get lucky.
