Hi, Has anyone filmed around the Vatican - if so would like to know if any special permissions are required? It will be for external shots. Thanks & Kind Regards, Tom

VFX set extension is a good idea worth exploring as well. Thank you for that suggestion.

VFX set extension? film the fg (where the actors stand) separately from the background. If your sneaky about your shots then very little green-screen or rotoscoping need be involved (i.e. costly in terms of hours of post-production work). As long as you can take lots of photos of the buildings for set extension then its a bread & butter vfx procedure. msg me if you want details.
