Transferring a greater than 16Gb file from Sony PHU-60K

I use a Sony PMW-EX1. I purchased a couple of the PHU-60K hard drives second-hand. Yes, I now know they are discontinued and have had bad press and users have reported problems! I had to get the firmware upgrade before they would work but they seem to work OK. (and I am being cautious and not using them for absolutely unrepeatable footage!). I use the free version of Sony Content Browser v.1.1 to review and transfer the SxS cards to my PC, and I then edit in Premiere Pro. However, when it came to the footage shot on the PHU-60K, Content Browser was unable to see it. My get-round was to copy each file from the PHU-60K onto an SxS card via the PMW-EX1 and then transfer in that way. Fortunately the files shot on the PHU-60K were smaller than 16Gb (the maximum size of my cards), but, if the file had been larger (and I do occasionally shoot live performances) how could I have transferred it? Is there a setting in Content Browser that allows it to read the PHU-60K? Advice very much appreciated.

I've got an alternative solution - how about an SxS adaptor to SDXC? Under $40, and you can then put say a 64GB SDXC (use a fast card eg class 10) into it, and either use that to stage the hard drive, or dump it altogether in favour of a pocket of £20 64GB cards for under £100 all in.
