Underscore Studios x BFI present Underscore Cinema 2025

Free Opportunity for to submit to Underscore Cinema (at the Rio cinema September 2025)

Underscore Studios have once again partnered with the BFI to present their second edition of Underscore Cinema, a grassroots film festival showcasing short films by UK-based creatives from working-class backgrounds. It aims to champion new, radical and heartfelt storytelling from voices often underrepresented in the Arts industry.

This is a completely free opportunity aimed specifically at working-class writers and filmmakers across the UK.

Interested filmmakers can indeed sign up to the Underscore newsletter to stay informed once submissions open.
