Updating my kit

6 years, 10 months ago - Zan Barberton

Hi - advice on kit please!!!

I've been running a Panasonic AF-AG100. I'm really happy with the ergonomics of this camera, which I use for mostly charity and corporate filmmaking, but also for creative projects of my own. However I'm not really happy with the lens (a Panasonic Lumix G Vario HD 14-140mm f/4-5.8 Mega OIS), which is rather slow, and lets me down in low light. I'm also aware that this camera is getting a little long in the tooth.

I don't feel the need to upgrade to 4K, but I know that this camera only writes at 35mbps, and has a smaller chip than I'd like. I don't have loads of money and am unwilling to take out a large loan.

Can any shooters out there give me some advice? Do I invest in a better lens for my existing camera, which will then be micro 4/3, or do I completely update my kit, and if I do, can anyone recommend a camera type which is available second hand, has a big chip and higher write speed, and is preferably under £3000? I do like to have interchangable lenses if possible...

I'm not keen on DSLRs because of the way I shoot.

Thanks in advance

Zan
