Yes!! I'm in the same boat. Have done short courses, sound \cinematography \directing actors; and I write. Study story and edit for others. But haven't broken my "made a thing" cherry yet. Met lovely very skilled people who offered but I'm so amateur\ what if I'm wasting their time\ one chance, need practise etc. Would LOVE to do something for no stakes: pls, yes count me in

I relate. I also just want to make stuff to learn, experience and have fun. I've had this idea for a while. It's probably not an original idea, but I have never come across it. I call it Filmmaking Carousel.

A group of filmmakers and actors. Minimum 5 people. Make 5 short films. After each film the roles are rotated. After making 5 films everyone experiences directing, camera/dop, sound recording and acting (twice). By experiencing different aspects of filmmaking you can become a better actor, director, camera/dop and sound recorder. There’s no pressure to be good at the unfamiliar role. It’s more of a learning experience. The end results doesn’t have to be great (but it just might be). We can help each other with the roles we’re unfamiliar with. You might find out you enjoy a role you’ve never tried before. Everyone would have to be committed to making 5 films and peforming every role. By the end of it we’d have gained some experience, learnt a few things and have stuff to add to our showreels.

A bit about me - I produce short training, communication and conference films for clients both in the UK and internationally. I love making content into a story right from the brainstorming through to final content.

Hi Kevin. I'm up for trying some kind of relatively low-stakes / low-effort / low-expense stuff in London. There used to be a group called Let's Make a Scene that did that sort of thing, the results were mostly not too great but I rather miss doing it.

But I'm also looking to widen my circle in terms of finding people who are in the same boat and just want to learn their lessons by making loads of shorts. Hi Everyone,

I feel the same as you all do, I would be keen to get together just to get stuff made. I do have a script I'm trying to get made over the next few months but in the meantime I'd love to just get out there and get some experience on other projects however big or small. I've worked on a few shorts doing various roles before and I'm keen to get involved in any way and try any roles.

Have you all met up yet? If so, I'd love to be involved, if not, lets organise something! :-)

I am so massively up for this, you have no idea.

I'm a DOP whose mostly been working on corporate video and I'd love to get a bit more experience on more creative projects, stretch some muscles I rarely get to use or even just chat through some ideas and whatnot.

I have a fair-sh level of gear, An FS700 and cine primes, A phantom 4 drone and some lower-end lighting and audio gear.

Hi all. We have something already set up that you can join. Action On The Side www.actionontheside.tv is a collaborative filmmaking project where we get together and make a short film. You can pitch your own ideas (your film can get made!). We make a short film across four weekends: Weekend 1 is preproduction; Weekend 2 is production; Weekend 3 is postproduction; and Weekend 4 is the screening. There is a fee, which covers the budget for the film. Our next project is MARCH. Work with other filmmakers, develop your skills, and you get a short film at the end of it (with footage and an IMDb credit). Sign up and join us.
