what are euroscript courses like?

11 years, 6 months ago - David Blakemore

Hi there

I was wondering if people on here could tell me if they have been on any of the short courses offered by Euroscript. I am looking at attending the comedy weekend, but am not sure if its worth it.

I'd be interested to hear from anyone who has been on one of their courses, and if they would recomend them.

Thanks in adventage.

David

I'm not familiar with the exact courses, but a good question to ask is what features alumni have had produced? Some writing courses are deep into theory but don't produce commercially viable scripts. Depends what you really want from a course.

If you're looking for that Hollywood break, for under a tenner there is a book 'writing movies for fun and profit' (the 'fun and' is crossed out throughout the book!). The style gets wearing in places, but the content is generally very good. And the authors wrote films grossing over $1.5Bn. They're quite pragmatic. Might be a useful balance/addition to your arsenal!

Some of he eurosript tutors even attend the london screenwriter's festival which is very good if you can afford price is higher that last year.

great networking and idea developing environment opportunity I would highly recommend them.

Best of luck with your writing!!

I have attended quite a few Euroscript courses over the years and I can strongly recommend them.
They have always been very welcoming - which is great when you're starting out - and are very knowledgeable both about writing and about the industry as a whole.
I also found their courses great for networking and made friends there that have led on to some very useful contacts.
