INDEXWhat i a reasonably priced place in London to screen a film
9 years, 6 months ago - Jane Sanger
There are loads of venues in London but are there any that are under £200 for a 2 to 3 hour reception and screening
Preferably central or south.
Will they let you do a drinks reception or provide a bar inclusive in the price
Have they got a red carpet and rails
How many do they seat
What format do they need the film in?
Greatly appreciate any help

Call up the hotels (courthouse, Bulgari, any with screening room) and haggle. Price will depend on time of day, number if guests, depth of service, etc.

BTW - of those two, courthouse is the larger room, and you get a proper projectionist which makes a real difference. Bulgari is swisher for fewer people, but actually I wasn't impressed with the technical presentation as much.
Post and rope, red carpet etc are all things you can hire (for much more than you'd imagine them to cost, because companies that hire them out do so for corporates). Someone needs to manage that all, too. Screening rooms are the opposite of glamorous media spots, they're discreet industry places to view a film, so are less likely to have that stuff than a hotel.

King and Queen pub in Foley st W1 have an upstairs room with a large wall mounted TV. Take your own DVD player. Will seat 30 I think. It's free for a charity donation!

Charlotte Street hotel had a lovely screening room (no idea on price thigh). Also BFI Stephens St was recently renovated and I wonder if you can get a good offer from them.
Hackney Picturehouse upstairs in the Attic is always great for a reasonable price. One of my favs - and we just ran a film festival there and it aaa perfect for searing roughly 80-90. It's not a formal screening room though. It's much more casual.
Oh and De Lane Lea - I think they do deals sometimes too. Mates have slotted in around other screenings and been able to afford it.
Hope this helps. Good luck!

Try these two; The Montpelier Pub SE15 and The Prince Regent SE24 I think both are free.
