Carmina, i really advice you not to look into redheads, as they are expensive, use up a lot of power (electricity bill through the roof) and they get EXTREMELY hot. And don't bother with fake/imports.

For what you described, two soft boxes and a reflector will work just fine. Keep in mind you can't shape these lights, so you wont really be able to do stylistic cinematography, but you don't want to do that anyway.

Here's a link. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Photo-Studio-Continuous-Softbox-Lighting-Set-UK-/170891210845?pt=UK_Photography_StudioEquipment_RL&hash=item27c9e8f05d

These are cheap, VERY COOL lights, literally you will be able to touch the bulb after 30 seconds of switching the lights off (but don't try that).

The bulbs used are ENERGY SAVING, so yay for saving on bills.

And lastly you can replace these bulbs (E27) fairly cheaply, around £15+

Oh and stands are included.

Good luck.

I started by getting a few "work lights" from a hardware store (eg Wickes) as they are CHEAP (as in around £30 incl stand etc) but they burn around 1800 so you need a double blue to raise them to 3200. On the other hand, redheads are much more expensive, but goto bblist.co.uk for PROFESSIONAL s/hand kit of all kinds.

If you can get a couple of secondhand redheads and a reflector, that set up would be able to cover those elementary needs adequately. Read up on 'three point lighting' (key, back, fill) - in this case you'd use the reflector for the fill light. You could also use 3 heads, with the fill being further from the talent.

I suggest secondhand good ones (ianiro, Afro, etc) over cheap eBay imports which can have quality and safety issues.
