We had a great Shooters in the Pub in Birmingham this week.
A nice mixed crowd turned out and networked in a salubrious private room of a city centre pub, where we've relocated after several years at an arts centre venue that's just a little bit out of the way. Always a risk shifting to a new place, but looks like we've hit on a nice spot, really central and sitting conveniently between two train stations that provide easy access for the wider region.
I do love forcing myself to get out of my comfort zone and go talk to actors, directors, animators, composers and the like, and there's never been a better time to be a filmmaker in Birmingham, with so many exciting filmmaking projects kicking off.
It got me thinking of all the other Shooters in the Pub events round the country (and New York? Is that still running?). How are you all getting on with yours? And are any of you doing anything special to make the nights more interesting?
Would be good to share what's happening out there........

Networking nights are a great for building a team, sharing news, finding opportunities, and developing a local filmmaking scene. They're also a great place to meet people from other regions when you're new to an area, travelling, or planning a location shoot.
