What's the best way to get work directing music videos?

I've made one music video and would love to do more. Ideally I'd be paid obviously but not paying to do it would be a great start!
Also - should I be picky about which track I agree to work on. My instinct is yes but I guess it limits me.

Get yourself some cash together. Say, £5-10k. Approach several small music managers who represent great but yet undiscovered artists. Offer o make them a free music video.
I did this back in the day and it worked well. My videos made it to several music video stations getting my directional endeavours noticed.
