where can I download user manual for Panasonic NV MD10000, in English?

12 years, 6 months ago - Susi Arnott

Panasonic site only offers it in Chinese - googling produces a mass of dead-ends, so any tips very welcome.
(Working in N.Kenya to mentor a great pair of young film-makers; brought a PDX10 for them, and they already have a Panasonic NV MD10000 - with more life in it now we've had the heads replaced down in Nairobi. But where to find a user manual for it?)
Thanks

Susi, in the past I've had to use downtango but as you've mentioned it's a horror. When you try to delete it, it will come back. The only around this is to back up all your documents on the user account then create a new one (pain) OR do what I do and buy an old cheap PC or use one that's about to die and only use purely for DT or suspect downloads. Sometimes I've have no choice but to do this as I had the same issues with trying to find correct reading material ie not in Russian or Chinese etc. using an old PC is useful also as I'm constantly hacking my camera and these need to be downloaded and of course no way will I use my MAC's for this. If you have any use for, I do have the NVMD10000 service manual PDF which I can send to you. Zak

Thanks Zak - that's really kind and thoughtful and helpful of you to answer!
I did find some links like this, but have a horror of malware and download viruses; looking at some of these links is worrying. What do you know about 'Downtango'?

Gosh Zak if you could send it that would be fabulous. Up in Isiolo just another 36 hours and there is so much to do, but if I could leave them with this it would be a big step forward; had fun introducing concepts like 'frames' and 'aspect ratio' and even 'focus', they've got most things on automatic anyway but hadn't ever looked at the menus, etc. But such a bright pair, and really great to work with.
(Like your idea of having a quarantined junky machine for dodgy downloads; an old Dell desktop back home in London is due to retire, so maybe it has a part-time job coming up...)
