Where can I find a DP with camera and anamorphic lenses?

7 years, 3 months ago - Kristopher Williams

I'm making a contemporary short film about a brave young woman with mental health issues and a massive kink in August in the southeast UK.

I'd like to rent an Arri Alexa Mini ideally with a couple of anamorphic 2:1 squeeze primes. This however might be out of my budget for more than 2 or3 days.

Are there any DPs on here with that kit or equivalent? I loooove the 2:1 format - if that turns out to be out of my price range does anyone here have a 2-4k digital cam with decent lenses and maybe a 1.33x or 2x adapter?

I'd like to hear your thoughts as Im new to the site and this seemed to be the best place to post - but please feel free to guide me in the right direction of finding this kit and director of photography

Thanks :-)

Hi Kristopher,

As Mark says, if you’re looking for people to collaborate with, the most effective way of reaching other members is to list your project in the Production part of the site. You can do this by clicking on the navigation ‘Production’ > ‘Get People’ (https://shootingpeople.org/production/people).

Once you’ve completed your post, the project will be available to view on the site in the Production directory and will be published in the bulletins.

Good luck with it.

Thanks, Im going to post once Ive got a few more bits ready like storyboards and music (I compose)

Im now thinking a more affordable option would be someone with a Lumix GH4 or GH5 and some primes with an anamorphic adapter like the Rectilux 3ff.

Thanks for your input.
