Which 28mm lens should I buy?

11 years ago - David Evans

Hi guys!

I am in need of a wider lens for my Canon 5D. I already own the Canon 50mm 1.4 and Canon 85mm 1.8, but am looking for a wider option. I think a 28mm focal length would be the best addition, although I am struggling to decide between which one.

Sigma 28mm 1.8 DG - never used Sigma lenses before, but have heard decent reviews on them. Fast lens and is only 20cm minimum focus length, rather than 25cm for the Canon's

Canon 28mm 1.8 - personally winning me over as it is a fast lens and I have knowledge of Canon lenses being reliable.

Canon 28mm 2.8 - has Image Stabiliser to reduce camera shake and I do use my camera handheld (as I don't own a rig yet)

Please help me decide or if you have any other lenses which you think are decent. My budget is similar to these lenses - around £350 - £400.

Thank you!
David
