would putting a trailer of my short on kickstarter to get festival entry funds, prevent me from entering big festivals? does this break the rules?

Hi Billy,

You've pretty much answered your own question because you've mentioned that the footage you'd be putting up is a trailer. Which is of course not the full film, so would not disqualify you from festivals. In fact a lot of festivals now ask for trailers which they utilise for further promotion, so you're all good. If you're funding raising for the film in question, then I would veer towards a trailer and then explore the rest of the film as stills further into your campaign.

Many thanks,
