Black Car Home

From David Pearson

About the film:

Black Car Home, is a darkly comic tale set in the run up to Christmas. Tatiana, a feisty illegal Latin American immigrant, is thrown overboard from a ship and told to ‘swim’. She is expecting to find New York, not the banks of the remote Severn estuary in England. She is rescued from freezing mud by Nathan, a rough giant of a man who lives in a makeshift camp by the beach. Tatiana is furious at being cheated by those on the ship and she is desperate to get away from here and to New York, well at least London. She angrily demands that Nathan takes her to London, but he flatly refuses. Initially hostile to him Tatiana begins to discover he's kind, resourceful and musical.

As their quirky friendship grows, she finds out more about his past and then an unexpected visitor launches them on their adventure. Hope comes in odd shaped sizes.

The film feature Jon Cleave, front man of the gold album winning band the "Fisherman's Friends" and Argentinian actress Nadia Serantes, who has worked in New York and London in TV and film.

It has been shown in 6 UK cinemas and at Festivals including the BAFTA qualifying London Short Film festival.
