Estranged from his family and facing financial ruin, Joe lives virtually cut off from the outside world. His sole interaction comes from surfing internet suicide chatrooms. Here he meets Aimee, and they make a pact to 'catch the bus' together.Aimee, abused by her mother's boyfriend and unable to speak out, channels her pain by secretly self-harming. When they meet in person, Joe is appalled to find Aimee is of a similar age to his daughter. He sets about trying to uncover what has led Aimee to such desperate action, in the hope it could help her to confront her problems."Catching the Bus" is the first of three stories that form this feature-length film. The other two, will enter production at the end of 2009.
