LOGLINE:
Obsessed by the role an actress commits to her performance, but drop by bloody drop the character consumes its creator.
SYNOPSIS:
On the stage an actress is committed to the role of a lifetime. However, each performance demands a sacrifice and takes a piece of her soul.
Night after night, the fictional character consumes the actors 'life-force' and grows in strength. Finally the tables are turned; the actress loses her sanity and the twisted inhuman doppelganger assumes control.
INFORMATION:
Inspired by Edgar Allan Poe's 'The Imp of the Perverse', 'Curtains' is about the irony of an actor's career. The moment the actors start to breathe life into their characters is also the moment when they as a person are forgotten. 'Curtains' is about one such actress. Her brilliant performances bring her character to life. Hungry for admiration, the character now have claims on audience's adulation, but who rightfully deserves the glory at curtain call?
