Missing Night

From Vivek Nair

About the film:

This was the first short film I wrote and directed, a 6 minute sci-fi horror with no dialogue filmed in Purley, South London. Self-financed with a budget of £800.

Plot: a woman driving through the woods one night has an encounter with a mysterious craft through which she experiences missing time. During this time, details she could never have imagined about her life begin to surface.

Alien-abduction and UFO themed movies are quite rare today. Having a huge life-long interest in it, I wanted to be able to do a modern-day retelling. I am a huge fan of 80s/90s genre movies and wanted to make a film involving practical effects, 80s style lighting and pure visual storytelling - coupled with modern cinematography and editing.

Starring Jo Hart (Jurassic World 2, Fisherman's Friend and recognisable from eBay adverts on TV), Christina Forrest and Lena Urban. We were a team of mainly 4 people. Director of Photography: Nina Mangold. I could not have asked for a better team to start my filmmaking career!
