We're Hunting Treasures
From Luca PaulliAbout the film:
A treasure hunt in the skies of London.
In a world where colourful animated characters inhabit unusual places, transforming them in to scenes from a daydream. The story reminds us that what we are searching for doesn’t always turn out to be exactly as we had hoped.
The inspiration for the film came whilst I was wandering along the South Bank one day. You can walk from East to West traversing the whole city of London. At the time they were finishing construction on the tallest building in Europe, close to the banks of the river. Opposite this hyper-modern skyscraper still stands the Old Billingsgate Market, a Victorian building that was in its day the world’s largest fish market. On top of Billingsgate sits a beautiful weathervane in the shape of a fish. I think it started me wondering about the history of the place, with ships and merchants crowding the banks of the river. At the same time the image of an animated King Kong in the classic Hollywood film combined with thoughts of sea monsters - giant squid, majestic whales and tropical fish swam into my mind. And like in a daydream I pictured it on the skyline in front of me.
