Simon Ball (Another Presence): "It’s an honour to be awarded by Shooting People, a community that I’ve been part of for a long time, as both a freelance animator and independent film-maker. Like all film projects, it’s been a long journey from conception to completion and it’s great for both me personally and for the amazing team I worked with to be recognised and supported. But most importantly, for a film about such a difficult condition, the exposure for the participants and their stories is invaluable."

A massive thank you to all our Shooting People patrons, speakers and judges who continue to support our New Shoots initiative: Sarah Gavron (Suffragette), Paul Greengrass (Bourne series), Peter Strickland (In Fabric), Alex Lawther (EOTFW), Shola Amoo (The Last Tree), Stephen Woolley (The Crying Game), Danny Boyle (Trainspotting), Desiree Akhavan (The Miseducation of Cameron Post), Alice Lowe (Prevenge), Ben Wheatley (Free Fire, High Rise), Jessica Hynes (Years and Years), Elhum Shakerifar (Syrian Love Story), Sally Potter (Orlando), Camilla Bray (Beats, Linn + Lucy)
