Affordable anamorphic lenses in the doc world?!

9 years, 8 months ago - Geoff Arbourne

I've been thinking about creating an anamorphic look for a bunch of interviews I'm working on for a feature doc. But of course most (if not all) of these lenses are out of my budget. However, I've just come across the SLR Magic Anamorphot 2x 50 Anamorphic Adapter - so I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this adapter? And what you thought about it.

Cheers!

Why not just rent one and try it out for a day? Then you could also see how it would affect your post production work flow.

Thanks Dan, yeah I've already planned to hire one for a few days but before I do - I was wondering what people thought about these kind of adapters...

The dual focus is the only thing that stops me using mine a lot more, there's the rangefinder adapter that sorts that, the coatings also create a modern blue flare and to be honest I'd prefer a less modern look,

Cheers Gareth...the dual focus definitely seems to be a problem.
