Karel, thanks much. I see that also Le Mégot doesn't show up it must be a special character issue. I also played around with the code last night to get it to print the full names without file extension, so I might heve introduced bugs here and there. Will dive into that now.

we have a talent for creating limitations in the digital world where they technically needn't be.

Just had a look, not convinced Saatchi Art is anything to do with the Saatchis, just riffing off the name??

But it would be nice if it wasn't a site that made every image immediately available to the masses.

Don't use artspan: they treat you like shit.
I've got my stuff on saatchiart at the moment though they currently have a bug that causes most work not to be visible for some reason. They are working on it. The only thing that is a sustainable problem there is that you can't opt out of their discount programs. I haven't found anything else that's able to distribute posters autonomously and that otherwise worked, too.

Hey Karel, I don't, BUT be warned: people WILL steal your shit for commercial purposes. Be careful. I've had tons of photog friends get ripped off.

"2014 - Saatchi Online sold to Demand Media for $17 million and rebranded as SaatchiArt.com"

I got on there before that. Can't count on anything nowadays, can one.

If you just want to show your works, not have them printed and delivered on demand, and you have a website where you can add your own html and content, then you can use the function automate - create web gallery (or something like that it was called) in photoshop and upload to your site.

That's what I used in the beginning, but then I started using bandcamp for the music, which took over my website, so I had to revert to a provider for art.

And since last weekend I modified my website so that the home page links to various things, instead of only showing the music, which was confusing when I applied for any other mandate than music.

You have options.

Check out 500px.com. In terms of an off-shelf solutions it's pretty robust and they have a good selection of templates. However, echoing a few points already made in this post, make sure all your images are digitally watermarked.

I use digimarc.com. It will protect your images against people screen capturing them. If you hunt around the coupon sites and you can usually get a discount code for their watermarking service at reduced annual fee.

er... alternatives, assuming that not doing anything is not an "option".

no it's a bug: I've been emailing with their support about this. I suppose they'll end up fixing it. Just hope it happens soon enough, before my next exhibition.

If you do't want the images available to everyone, how do you see that happening? With password?

It says there are 117 works, but when you click on that, a lot fewer works appear. Or is it working when you open it?
I tried on someone else's computer (other than a client's computer which is the one I'm currently using for I can't afford one - too much info) and it didn't work there either.

here is what the photoshop automated gallery looks like: http://alevemine.com/art/
the image files are a lot smaller than the originals.
saatchi seems to display all images, too, now, but the bug is probably not fixed.

Went back to bed for a bit. ;-)

I see around 36. That's a poor show for a supposedly premiere site. You sure it's not privacy settings?

If you're doing photos only, maybe there are other photo-specialized services that are relevant for you while not for me so haven't noticed them.

It looks like it's working now! The trick is to just never use in any file names any character that is not in the english language. I tried to keep the special characters but it seems to transcribe it in 3 different way in different places, so I gave up figuring that out.

Saatchi would be good (for credibility reasons). How bad is the problem? Can you provide a link?
