INDEXAre there any US Literary Agents who would consider scripts from writers based in the UK?

Hi
Can anyone help with this:
Are there any US Literary Agents would would consider unsolicited film scripts from writers resident in the UK?
I have written a number of film scripts, but seem unable to get any UK based Literary Agent to look at them.
I was just wondering whether if it's easier on the other side of the pond?
Regards
Mo

The UK 2017 Writers and Artists Yearbook lists 77 US Lit. Agents. I wouldn't imagine they would have done that if those agents did not consider submissions from UK residents. They also list agents based in Australia, Canada and New Zealand.
But I may be wrong.

Hi Mo, I wouldn't waste your time unless you have a really big 'in'. The way the US system works is a bit different from here: essentially the way in is via management. Once you get a manager, your manager will pitch you and your projects to agents. So forget agents, hit LA and New York managers with your best projects and see what gives. Good luck.

Thanks to Nic it clears up everything, I've always had a feeling that I've been wasting time with 'agents' down here. I really think the States is where its at for up and coming screenwriters. Especially ones with high concepts.

Nic is right - you need to have a manager, or failing that someone really good, like a successful producer to recommend you - Good agents can pick and choose, thousands of us out there so the bigger, prestigious ones don't accept cold calls/emails because they don't have to, and the good writers find their way in anyway, either by recommendation or by having a couple of good credits which makes the agents sometimes approach you.
