COULD YOU MAKE A MUSIC VIDEO IN 2 WEEKS?

How often do you see music videos on social media? We’re guessing pretty much everyday. How often do you head to YouTube to get your music fix? We’re betting more than just every now and then. Are you making music in need of attention-grabbing footage? Or are you a film maker with big ideas? Well, keep reading! There’s no denying the impact an inventive, creative and well executed music video can have, so we’re really excited to be bringing 2Weeks2MakeIt back for it’s 8th year. This exciting music video competition is based in the creative, cultural heart of Sheffield, but reaches out across Yorkshire and further afield. Applications are now open for 2Weeks2MakeIt 2016 and we can’t wait to see what you come up with! Competitors will connect with other musicians from across the country as well as connect with filmmakers, all spanning various genres, styles and backgrounds. We will create teams of filmmakers and musicians from all of our applicants at a super-cool launch event and Industry Day on the 15th April in Sheffield.

Filmmakers: As long as you’re open to ideas, flexible and up for a challenge, anyone with a bit of experience can apply! From students to professionals, its free to apply for everyone – successful applicants will simply need to join the SYFN for an annual fee of £30 (£20 for Students) at: https://www.syfn.org/membership/membershipform/ The SYFN is an industry hub for local independent filmmakers to support and connect with one another. Musicians: If you’re making music, we want to hear from you. From metal to motown, classical to classic rock, songwriters to super-groups, no style is off limits! Get your mitts on a music video for your new single or that upcoming EP launch and get it fast. We don’t call it 2Weeks2MakeIt for nothing.

All we ask from our musicians is a one off payment of £75. It really is that simple – and probably the cheapest music video you’ll ever make! Once paired up randomly with a filmmaker, together you’ll develop a music video that promotes your musical talents and the ideas you develop in your team. In just 2 short weeks you’ll see the finished film on a big screen at the the Showroom Cinema on May 8th when the judges and audience will decide who takes home the cash prizes – and more!
