Hi Shooters,

Is there any website or forum, listing found support institutions such as British Council or crowdfounding pages such as kickstarter or indiegogo?

Regards

Alexandra!!!

I think that when it comes to crowd funding you're on your own. You gotta sell sell sell :-) So remember, it's not about your need for money, it's about how them giving you the money fulfils THEIR need. That's the difference between them wishing you luck and actually ponying up.

I don't think any of the formal funding bodies have any real connection with crowd funding and certainly don't have any idea how to help you tap into it beyond the commonsense. Remember, their remit is "get given a load of money, dole it out to people they like", and they don't have any shortage of supplicants. [Yes, deliberate word usage there :-) ]

Good luck

There have been extensive discussions on these lists about crowd funding. you've mentioned the obvious sites in your question. As far as I know there's little real knowledge or support for this extremely broad business model from any state funded entity. Whilst there are sites specifically set up to enable crowd funding there are other places in both the physical and virtual worlds that are populate 'crowds' with other primary purposes but who may very much want to support projects that they see as helping those other primary objectives.

The term 'crowd finding' is pretty generic and there are many variations that work better depending on the nature, ethos of the project and the crowd. Purely egocentric arts films (films that are just a fiction story providing the actors and creative departments with an opportunity to demonstrate nothing more than their own talents) that have no other clearly identifiable socio-political, socio-cultural beneficial aspiration are less compelling to 'crowds'. And why should they!?

Also, don't overlook the 'opportunities' section of this site
