INDEXDo you edit corporate video? What rate do you charge?

I have a fair idea of the rates involved in television but would like to know what they are for the corporate sector. I assume they vary wildly.

It depends on a few things. If I were an employee of the company, I wouldn't have to charge VAT, or to insure myself, or get my own equipment. If I really liked the project, I might work for less as well.
Then there's the quality of equipment, your level of experience, and your specific qualifications.
I know a few people who would be very happy to do it for 8 pounds an hour (it beats stacking shelves at pound land.) They are competent, and may even have degrees and a few years of experience, but they don't have any specific certification or qualifications. Some of these often work for less than 8 an hour.
As a rule of thumb, if I'm working as a contractor, I'd charge £35/ hour if there's a script and a storyboard, £120/hour if there's not.
That said, I don't have the budget to pay that in my current project, so we might be going with the enthusiasts or recent grads at the lower rates. (Or, I might edit it myself, if I have time.)
If you don't need it done quickly, and you're willing to train an editor, you can bring in someone with less experience. It'll take longer, so it really depends on your time budget.

Trade-off between how hungry you are, how much you want to keep your rates up, how good you are, how much the director wants you, how big the job is, etc. There are no set rates per se.
