Filmmaking & Acting Podcasts

7 years, 11 months ago - Xenia Glen

Hi Everyone,

I just came across a really interesting actors podcast on: http://inanything.com/

And I was wondering what other filmmaking or acting podcasts / youtube channels / blogs etc. you follow? It would be great to get a list of the ones worth knowing about.

Hi Xenia, firstly I'll get my own plug out of the way - I write a blog for actors keen to get into acting. Mainly on mindset, helpful hints, ways to make more money etc. It's all on actingbabe.com.

* I love Jonathan's site! It's got brilliant content.
* Also Ross Grant over at Act on This is awesome. He also has free podcasts you can listen to with well known Casting Directors and actors.
* BGB Studios are great. They're American but their content and talks are relevant to anyone, anywhere.
* AMAW - Anthony Meindl does a weekly vlog. He's American but also has acting studios here in London and Australia. They run great weekly classes. His vlogs are awesome! Every week he touches on key things about acting. Some of his previous students have been top 10 on IMDb. So he can back up his teaching and talks with loads of excellent examples of working actors.

Hope these are useful. Can't wait to hear what ones other people suggest.

this one featuring discussions with critics about their favourite films is good, especially considering most podcasts with people talking about films (rather than filmmaking) tend to feel like unedited boring conversations between friends.

http://www.thecinephiliacs.net

the Little White Lies podcast is also quite good, in that it is accessible, has a non-film-nerd host, and is edited down to a nice brevity

likewise, in the USA - the film comment podcast can be interesting for this sort of thing, but can be a bit too academic, with the participants tried to outdo each other with contrarianism and obscure references.
