Hi Cara - I'm still looking for creatives (actors/writers/crew) looking to collaborate on developing their ideas. I have a feature in post-production so my time is limited but I can provide guidance on developing a short-film project and assist in getting it shot and edited.

I am also looking for fellow filmmakers and collaborators. I have set up a new YouTube channel, managed to get 147 subscribers. I am hoping to showcase entertainment from films to music and beyond.
I think we all should discuss our goals and see if were all on the same page.

Cause if one person wants to make a film and send it to a festival while the other wants to churn out shorts for experience and networking purposes then it wont work.

Hi all,

I too am something of a newby to films.
I'm a lawyer by day, but have organised an international piano competition and live music events in my spare time, as well as shot and edited two short films fitting special requirements.

I will also have some very modest funds (via the company I own) available later in the year for investment in shorts, to gain experience, as well as organisational ability to help with projects.

I'm in London from time to time, so would like to meet.

Hi everyone and thanks Betty for starting this, I just saw this thread in my email. I am working on a fantasy feature script at the moment, but would be very interested in collaborating with others on different projects. I'd be particularly interested in script/storyline development, assistant directorship to get some hands on experience in directing and also acting. I think one good option for meeting up is going to the regular shooting people gatherings on the first or second Monday of each month. Although I noticed that the thread is about a month old, so that may have already happened :)

Allan does make a good point though - there are some 'filmmakers' out there that try to talk inexperienced actresses into compromising situations so it's best to be careful - there's predators in all walks of life.

Hopefully he can vouch for me though since we've worked together :)

Wow that's a risky assertion Allan. This is shooting people, not some dark dimension of the World Wide Web. Of course it's important to be sensible about meeting strangers and making sure one isn't wearing ones rosy tinted spectacles when doing so.

Making great collaborations is at the heart of success in this industry particularly where precocious talent and energy combines with time forged skill and wisdom.

Just be sensible, keep your eyes peeled and your powder dry!

I have just come across this conversation and I would be interested getting in touch with you all. A meet up would be great but if we could talk over Skype or phone before is fine too. I am looking for an producer/production assistant to join our company Green Leaf Pictures, so Betty if you are interested let me know. I also looking for someone with an understanding of media law and can assist with creating contracts and legal question, maybe Timothy you could help. We will be updating the site soon too. My partners are in NYC and LA. We've worked with Animal Planet and other companies. Betty, my first training was as an actor. The American Academy of Dramatic Arts and then later for film production at Columbia University. I'm a bit old school and enjoy super 16 and 35, but we've been shooting with Red and the Alexa lately. Betty - you sound like a very sweet lass and obviously being some decades older than you I look at you as I might one of my daughters. And oh dear! You are a worry some of you girls! There are a lot of predatory males out there as I'm sure you're aware. I do a bit of acting and writing and if you'd like to send me some of your ideas it would be fun to look at it. Hi all my name is Antonio and I am an Actor. I need advice please. I decided to wright a short to use as part showreel. I have managed to build a really good cast and storyline, I now need to get moving. I have decided to shoot at night in central London as scene demands it. I have no idea what this involves or costs, could someone please advise, as I mentioned its for part showreel, so not much of a budget right now. I know this sounds very armature and well it is, however its a great story line and we all need to start somewhere right.

This thread just popped up on the sp email, and I wanted to join in on the fun :)
I am also looking to get involved in collab projects, and as Betty says, it's hard to get out there and just act sometimes!
I'd love to collaborate with a group of like-minded folk. I'm primarily an actor but with writing, directing & producing experience. I really enjoy creating scripts through improv as Gigi suggested, too.
