Has anyone used www.filmfreeway.com before?

It seems like a really good idea in principle, I understand it doesn't have all the heavy hitters, and lots of 1 day/small festivals, but before I take the plunge, I was wondering if any other shooters have used it or could recommend it? Thanks!

Emil, it's more of a 'good idea in principle'. It's a 'go to' place for festival submission for me. If you're comparing it to Withoutabox or FestHome of ClickforFestivals then I would say (although it's only my opinion), it's by far the most accomplished and 'enjoyable' (if you like) submission experience. Heavy hitters? Sundance? Slamdance? I know Encounters use Withoutabox exclusively. Maybe a few others, but you know, Film Freeway aren't to be considered a nearly ran in the film submission stakes. They are by far the best and I hope those 'heavy hitters' consider using them in the future. Again, just my opinion. See here - https://filmdaily.co/craft/withoutabox-vs-filmfreeway-film-festivals This ol' chestnut has been a running commentary for a while. Your money, your choice, essentially.

Along with Festhome, it has some of the best amateur festivals, and a few years ago I found it the easiest to use. If you want to submit to multiple festivals, that is.

That said, I didn't see any film markets (where distributors would attend). I think the reason Sundance and Co don't use them is because they have too many submissions already, they don't want to be spammed by filmmakers who are just entering everything (and they don't want to pay the massive fees, either.) So, what makes them great for filmmakers who just want to enter a lot of festivals is what makes them suck for festivals who are already inundated with content.

From a big festival's POV, I can see why they don't want to use any of those guys.
