Or do you have any short courses in London to recommend for directing?

Do check out the Shooters course directory as well, in case there are courses there that might interest you. It's updated daily: shootingpeople.org/directory

I recently did the Directing Actors short course at the NFTS. I haven't got anything to compare it to but I thought it was very good (although very expensive...)

I don't think it necessarily is. On my course about half had made their own shorts or adverts, and the other half were editors, DoPs, crew who had experience of working in a production context without any/much directing experience. It's definitely a tough course if you haven't got much directing confidence as they kind of throw you in at the deep end, but IMO that's a good thing... I didn't have much experience beforehand but I learned a lot by being treated as if I knew what I was doing,,,

Cheers John. Anyway, the next directing actors course at the NFTS takes place in May so there's plenty of time. You wouldn't have heard of any other course (just to try something before)?

Hi John, thanks for your reply. I am just starting out, isn't the Directing Actors short course only for experienced Directors?
