Zara, look in this ASK thread for "Where can I sell filmmaking equipment?" Alison is selling a Merlin 2. Maybe you can hire or buy it at a good price.

You do know that you can buy electronically stabilised gimbals designed for use with smartphones? They are not too expensive. DJI do one. There are ones on the market cheaper than the DJI one, but I can't vouch for their quality.
