Hey Alexander I'm a director and my last short film Eject (which I have also written a feature version of) has a Black Mirror vibe and it's played at over 30 film festivals (including Bifa, Bafta and Oscar Qualifying festivals) and has won several awards. Hi Alexander, I've Written, Produced and Directed one feature film, THE HONEY KILLER, that has gone to be a huge cult movie and around 20 international television documentaries and over 100 corporate and web commercials. I've also Produced about 40 television documentary programmes. I've got SIX awards for Directing and Scriptwriting and eight nominations, BUT I have been around the industry a long time and if I'm honest, Netflix will be looking for a Director or Producer who has e.g two episodes of Game of Thrones or Loki or another internationally recognised TV series or film etc. They want something internationally recognised and they are HARD to attach! Unless you go through their agent or production company you won't even reach them. But honesty is worth its weight in gold in this business and I do fear that my accomplishments are more than likely not enough! I'll leave it up to you to have a think about. Hi Alexander,
A couple of years ago I entered the Netflix-Impact writing opportunity where every couple of months we provided a specific genre script (already written) and the plans for a different script in that genre. Researching it further as to the 30 second pitch/presentation and its follow-up - should it be selected - there seemed to be an emphasis on getting A-listers attached to the project for it to stand any chance. Coming to this late in the day but my understanding of pitch/presentations to Netflix is you also need a top notch actor attached to the project.
