INDEXImagine that you could make a feature film

Everybody dreams to have success and some people want it more than others but how can I really get the bus that I am seeking and how can I be part of his film?
These days we provide funding for films that are in production from around $5 million and above. We are looking for family action films that can attract a larger audience but I Either have a sense of humour or are gripping enough in adventure to have a James Bond Lara Croft star in them.
We arrange funding of 80% and can assist you to find the other 20%.
Shooting people of Britain excellent platform for like-minded people to meet .

Hi Lawrence.
I've been reading your many recent postings with some interest. Rarely do we have a film financier posting with such enthusiasm. It's a bit moot for me perhaps because I'm into factual documentary features budgeted under £1.2m and down to as little as £35,000. There's a new kid on the block though with both the way docs get audiences and how their business models work, including more than a couple of Crowd Funding methodologies. I suspect that these emerging business models will be extrapolated to suit bigger budget dramatic features in the near future as it becomes increasingly possible to produce what are currently $100m movies for a tenth of the price and indeed $10m ones for less than a million. So curent moguls should make hay while the sun shines and prepare for a new game.
I'm intregued though by the business model you're offering in terms of how much control, ownership, distribution and how the tapering of rewards work and if there's any synergy to be explored between your business model and the new ones emerging?

John if I was a philanthropist I would certainly invest in what you do. Members may consider that those who are involved in film finance are loaded and that's not necessarily a case. Life is about relationships and out of my original discussion on film funding we have had about 10 meetings with film producers which are moving forward.
I work with two other people, One of them who works closely with the fund because I put him there, and another an executive producer who has done several films.
The Key The film funding and to getting your film together with cast and crew is developing relationships and I would love to hear more about your documentary and what you do. My email is digiteum@hushmail.com

I haven't answered your question though - the fund that we deal with does fund feature films: and have operated and worked with world class studios for the last 40 years - including Disney, Dreamworks, Warner Brothers, BBC, Cosgrove Hall, Chapman Entertainment and CHF Entertainment.
They have been associated with family entertainment that has collectively resulted in over $8 Billion of world wide sales. Their aim is to create quality, fun storytelling and content. Engage our audience and make them smile.
Whereas you will argue that you can make films for less, I believe that since you are welsh you could make a very funny feature film that might for example be a remake of Under Milk Wood or a James Bond film in Llandudno about the Double life of Welsh master spy Arthur Owens.....

We came second in an Welsh Arts Council/Lottery competition a few years ago for a million quid budget. Second out of thirty. Might just as well have been last for the only prize. The paper work totaled a tower of A4 literally two foot six high! Our comedy drama was entitled 'Dai Hard'. It was very funny. I decided then that life is too short to play other folks games.

Generally I'm fairly transparent in my film affairs. Naturally a few key elements vulnerable to plagiarism and the location of finite treasures remain under wraps until no longer needing protection.
We've made five crowd funded projects, with in today's money perhaps about £250k of resources in all, with a fifth in hand and still raising funds from what will be at least four different crowds. Aiming to raise between £100k and £300k. Number six is the most ambitious, much informed by our 16 years doing these things; aiming for between £600k and £1.2m. It will be a semi dramatised feature documentary with sequences utilising live actors, locations and also the breakthrough in affordable photorealistic CGI. The thing with these sort of projects is to cut ones cloth according to its measure rather than to begin with a rigid budgetarily fixed plan.
What makes this business model different is that no industry commercial entity other than the craft of production need be involved. Distribution is entirely free and piracy is not an issue; indeed it's encouraged. Nevertheless the philanthropic purpose of these projects is financially viable, everyone gets paid properly. High quality people are rarely available for less. Project are entirely front loaded and despite the free distribution there are bonus elements that can be exponential. The key is to produce very high quality projects that further the aspirations of significant numbers of people, whose interest has nothing to do with investing for money and everything to do with investing in a common good.
We've been doing all kinds of other projects using traditional business models since the 1980s. Pretty much given them up entirely now though. Partnerships and relationships sharing a common goal is the way for us. Controlling Superiors, even benign ones, are unlikely to have much appeal.
Investment ought to have it's reward though acording to both its measure and aspiration. Relationships based solely on a singular business culture have their place, other more expansive options are available.
We welcome interest from big minds and synergies applicable to the forgoing. Right now is not the time for narrowly specific job applications which won't be responded to or filed until we're ready to invite.
My contact details are available from my SP profile.

Terms and Conditions. Benefits, liabilities and obligations.
Facilitators finding investments are often worth ten percent of the sum raised if the terms and conditions aren't onerous. Ten percent of seven and eight figure sums is very big money. Producers might want to get a lot for it. Always study the small print. If one doesn't fully understand the ramifications of a deal then get someone who does. Whilst it's always very welcome, it has little do with good manners.

We will fund films over the $5m and above threshold 100%, however we want a full package ready to go, – full portfolio including Concept overview, storyline and script, team, detailed budget, waterfall/projections.
The present fund we are working with does not do war films and does not do horror films.
Generally the fund does not like swear words.
They like family action films, and will consider other genres.
If you do not have the full spec - we can help you get it together - if you have cast involved or you must have most of the package in and a promo sheet.
We have a sales agent working with us.

Hi Lawrence, I know we spoke before on the phone, a colleague of mine with whom I had written a script has a project that could suit this. It would be more in the 12a certificate range as opposed to PG. Would that still be of interest? I can put you in touch if you like.
Very Best
Chris
