INDEXLooking for a project to test my new Panasonic EVA1 (Varicam Mini) in real world conditions.

I'm looking for a production on which I can test my new Panasonic EVA1 in real world conditions. For those that don't know, the EVA1 is the baby of the Varicam family (Deathnote, Frontier) and with a 5.7K sensor (10 bit 4K internally and 5.7K RAW to an external recorder) is Netflix approved. It can also be broken down to a small size to be put on gimbals, drones etc).
The production would be with me as DOP (only interested in testing, not dry hire), be insured and have a decent lighting/grip budget.
If you have a production that fits the above criteria and you would be interested in letting me test my EVA1 out on it; let me know.
Cheers.

Hi Robert,
That sounds a great idea! :)
Nice to connect. I'm in Ruislip, Middlesex. How about you?
Had a look at some of your stuff. Like it!

Mark

Thanks Mark
I’m based in SE London.
Just getting to grips with the new camera, done a couple of tests etc... Now need to get a V90 card.
Think I’ll go down the V-Lock route.
Coming from the C100 it’s more future proof.

Hello Mark
How are you getting on with the Panasonic EVA1 ? On paper it looks like a lot of camera for the money and I'm keen to know if it's a good fit for us.
Your opinion would be much appreciated.

Really good in testing. I've been customizing it with my own accessories. Also, Wooden Camera have come out with a PL mount for it. Its a 10 minute conversion and reversable.
Looking forward to the 5.7K uncompressed RAW update at the beginning of next year! Vlog pictures are identical to its bigger brothers in the Varicam family and I have seen footage where it has been a B Camera to an LT. Can't see the join. Also, brakes down quite small for drones, gimbals etc.
There's a lot of bang for the buck. LCD problamatic though. I've mounted it on the ACs side to use it just as a touch-screen. Got my own EVF attached (through SDI) Also, I've changed the handle for a Zacuto one. Both Atamos and Convergant Design have introduced updates for it on their recorders; including remote trigger.
