Looking for filmmakers in and around South Wales

1 year, 7 months ago - Patty Papageorgiou

Hi Shooters,

As someone who lives out in the sticks (Crickhowell, Wales) I'd love to connect with any other filmmakers, actors, writers etc, in the wider area. I'd love to either get some of my shorts off the ground, or collaborate with anyone else who is making stuff locally.

I am a screenwriter but can also do stills photography, or just tea making, driving, assisting in any department! I just want to get involved and have fun making stuff.

So if you're in Wales please say hello and let's chat!

Hello Patty

We're thirty odd miles north of you. Near Llandrindod Wells. Always interested in local talent.

Putting projects together is like a bag of bits. Doesn't matter how good and lovely are those bits, they still need to actually fit together. Sharing a 'Venn diagram' of commonality.

Our little production company has been functioning, as a community resource, much above its weight, since before its incorporation in 1992. We're currently focused on our project about Law and Justice especially in terms of our Common Law;

What is it ? Who owns it ?

It's something that I've been developing for decades, not least consequential to my successful work as a paralegal community advocate over those decades.

Usefully the astonishing revelations that our film will illustrate is equally pertinent everywhere that relies on what is, in actuality, English Common Law, including all of the Kings realms and, perhaps astonishingly to some, the USA. The uncontroversial fact is that we are all Common Law Constitutions. Representing an audience interest group of over half a billion souls.

The current Mr Bates and the Post Office scandal is just the beginning of what ought to lead to a renaissance of constitutional law and governance.

We have a blue print plan for a crowd funded £1.6m dramatised documentary feature film with distribution deals that terrestrial and satellite broadcasters will love, not least because they will have it for free multiple broadcasts but with limited time and territorial exclusivity; after which the film will be universally free to view on any platform. Those making the film will be properly paid, including reasonable corporate profits. Funders get nothing other than the most powerful film ever made about the usurpation of constitutional law, or as it has been learnedly described, the death of justice by a thousand cuts. The history, factuality and fundamental constitutional crisises arising from unlawful governance and judicial impropriety has reached a critical mass. One could hardly make it up.

The main crowd funders are entities whose core purposes include this production.

We're always interested to discover talented collaborators who also share compatible aspirations

Wishing you blessings

John Lubran

Hi John, thanks for your message :) Nice to connect with more local filmmakers. Sounds like you are making good progress with your project. Do you produce fiction work as well? Short films? Or are you predominantly interested in documentaries?

Mostly factual, educational and arts. Patty. Now merging all those things into Dramatic Documentary. Dramatic recreation needn't be limited to fiction. Especially where fact can be more dramatically compelling than fiction.

Hi Patty,,
Crickhowell was the home of my ancestors (Prossers & Evans) as tomb stones in graveyards there will show. Though, unfortunately, I don't live there, as I'm based in West Sussex. Hpowever, I sometimes visit Crickhowell on my way to visit my family who live in Carmarthenshire and Pembrokshire. After a long career in television, predominately in drama, initially as a stage manager and then, for 10 years as a floor manager / first asistant director, before I became a producer on a serial before doing what I really wanted - to direct (400+ broadcast credits over 25 years). Then, in latter years, for training workshops, I started scribbling, scenes before writing screenplays for short drama films. Recently, as writer & director, I have just completed production on just one of the 7 short drama scripts I've written. If you'd like to have a chat, please e-mail me at nicholas.prosser@gmail.com
