Looking for student filmmakers for charity internet safety campaign/project pilot for parents.

7 years, 5 months ago - Sabera Ahsan

I will be working on an internet safety campaign for parents specifically mums and grandmothers.

I want to create some short films /campaigns on internet safety and some multilingual videos interviewing parents, young people including presenters who speak different languages.

I have very little budget to do this pilot but anyone looking for a social type project that will get lots of kudos and attention from big partners please let me know.

If you'very not yet done so check out the charitable crowd funding platforms such as Just Giving and others.

OK fab. Do you mean in terms of raising funds or to look for filmmakers?

GoFundMe and Indigogo's subsidiary Generosity are other platforms. Learn more about them with Google. Operating with these facilitators is similar to other crowd funding sites such as Kickstarter and Indigogo's commercial arm but the opportunity to crowd fund with less cost and without having to work up your crowd with much, if any, reward tickling. Nevertheless there's quite a bit of work to to if such campaigns are to succeed.

These are about fund raising, however they ought to be a part of your wider PR and collaborator discovery. You might for example look for proven and capable collaborators who can help you to make a short campaign film of between two and six minutes that will be essential to success. Those who will be responsible for making a success of the whole project ought to be paid a reasonable fee if possible; everyone has to eat and pay their bills!. If the project has a decent prospect of attracting funds and support your film making team should have a reason to invest themselves in the work. Think big not small. As the old saying goes, it can be easier to raise a million than it is to raise a thousand

Whilst you may well be able to find students able to provide good quality collaboration, why limit yourself to beginners? You may well be able to find other professional and effective people. The main thing you have to offer is a well thought out and researched project with access to those who can provide the content, the things that give your project traction and that can appeal to a critical number of end users/viewers.

Hello Sabera
I think you would benefit from a good quality video being made as opposed to student work. This will garner more attention and you will be taken more seriously in more places.
I for example have a soft spot in my work for high end charitable and awareness raising videos and I follow (and am followed by) many charity handles on social media. I would like to discuss your ideas with you and see if I can personally help out. Please visit www.iwitnessedimages.com and my twitter @francescobori especially to see how I'm linked up with awareness raising internationally.
