INDEXLooking for two screenwriters to collaborate with on a very special project

Hello shooters, I am a writer and director working a powerful feature project and I am looking for two very talented writers to assist me on developing my story to final draft stage by the end of June. I know my story, and I am half-way through my draft, but a combination of dreaded writer's block and a need to bring in some new energy and perspective has prompted me to turn to this forum. I'm looking for two professional writers, in the John Milius mold who can write quite visually and viscerally and help me squeeze every bit of potential out of this promising script.
I have just recently returned from Cannes together with two producers and we have established some solid co-producing relationships, so production is a real prospect once the script is locked. We are aiming for a February 2016 shoot on a budget of around 900k-1M in London and the Canaries. If you are happy to work to a deferred contract i.e the securing of first tranche development/production funds, then please contact me to discuss further.
Synopsis - The Gates of Hell
Omar Cigal is the black sheep of a devout Senegalese Muslim family from south London. Following his release from prison, Omar finds that his younger, and supposedly more innocent brother, has fled the UK to join ISIS. In a bid to save his brother and redeem himself in the eyes of his estranged parents Omar undertakes a near suicidal mission to Syria, via Istabul to find his brother and bring him home. Think A Prophet meets Lone Survivor meets Black Hawk Down.
A teaser trailer was shot earlier this year, you can see it here:

I hope you can pull this off. I've been involved in about a dozen or more films with a "promise of funding" and not a one got off the ground for various reasons (most of the time it was a star who backed out). So like Wozy says, you need to offer some upfront cash. If the producers are serious and have a track record, that shouldn't be a problem.

You might want to take the word "professional" out of your pitch, as that suggests you want someone who relies on their craft to make a living.

Agree with the above points, for example, this week I can pitch to rewrite an existing script that already has funding and a shooting date - but the director wants to do something new, OR I can pitch in with someone like yourself with absolutely no promise of anything. Sadly we all have to eat.

It might be worth offering at least something up front if you want any writer of worth... It's still a spec until funding is secured. Sounds like an interesting project but it's a tremendous amount of work in a short space of time on the hope it gets funded.
My 2c worth.

I was involved with a TV series earlier this year with three big names attached. We were all ready to go when one had to pull out for various reasons which meant some of the finance then pulled out. Then before you know it you're about back to square one. Luckily we pulled it back together with new finance and different stars and we were back on track. But we paid the writers non-the-less...
It aint on till you wrap...
