INDEXLooking to collaborate with London based comic book artist
7 years, 9 months ago - Jordan Malonga
Morning all,
I'm a short film writer-director and a big fan of manga/anime. I'm looking to collaborate with a comic book artist in making a comic book, just the one issue.
I have a script and an idea of how I want it to look but I'm willing to learn the process in making it a reality.
Looking for someone who:
Enjoys comics/manga.
Passionate about comics.
Loves illustrating.
I'm looking to go down The Boondocks TV series look. If anyone's interested or knows someone who may be interested, let me know.
Many thanks,
J

Hi, it will be tough to get an artist who can do what you want unless you are willing to pay them. Average fee can be anywhere between £100-£200 per page. The other thing is, good artists have so much work going on at any one time. Try deviantart.com again though, I think they're gonna want payment, and if you do get someone for free, keeping them onboard could become a problem if they start getting offered paid work afterwards as that will become a priority for them.
good luck Lance

I wonder if Lance Patrick is still here.
Where do you get your average fee from? I'm not into debating it right now, just looking for a source that adjusts itself with inflation, and perhaps has more relevant information about the UK comic industry. (I've seen US sources that give different numbers, but perhaps fees are higher here. Which might mean other things are different too.)
Other than DeviantArt, where else might a UK comic artist (or painters) look? Especially those who have their own style (rather than going for a "look.")
Also, how would you advertise? Any example adverts online we could see? (Even for expired jobs.)
