Hello all,
I'm a York based screenwriter. I initially trained as an actor in Los Angeles and then re-located to London where I studied film at university. I've been in York for just over a year now and am looking to meet fellow film creatives to hopefully work on something. I've got a number of scripts, both features and shorts, including one short; a period horror piece, that I'm very keen to get off the ground. It's been selected for a number of festivals and competitions both in the UK and USA.
Whatever your field of expertise is and whatever is your passion, if you are in the Yorkshire area or able to travel and would be interested in chatting and hopefully working together on some projects, do get in touch!

Hi Gregory,
Perhaps you'd like to meet up with us at the South Yorkshire Filmmakers' Network - we are in Sheffield but lead an active network with lots of opportunities and events. Check out www.syfn.org. We also host Shooters in the Pub: Sheffield with Shooting People.
There are some groups in York like the new 'Meet Up' in York that was recently set up on Facebook....but I don't know much about them. There is also a Shooters in the Pub: Leeds.

Thanks for the reply and the recommendations. Checked out SYFN; seems great and I'll definitely join up soon. I'm also going to come along to Shooters in the Pub; may not be able to make June 6th but certainly the July one. I've requested to join the facebook groups for both Sheffield and Leeds.

@Gregory Fishwick Hello, probably not. I'm going to another networking meeting the day after (Wednesday, July 6 at 7:30 PM, Outlaws Yacht Club). York Uni has some great film facilities, and close links with GSP Studios who produce several feature films a year from about 40 minutes towards Selby.

Probably not applicable, but I'm only 30 mins away from Sheffield (Derbyshire based). I'm an up and coming director. My latest feature 'In a Year' is currently doing festival rounds; it just won Best Picture and Best Director at Monthly Film Festival, made it to the Official Selection of Los Angeles Cinefest and made it to the final rounds of selection at the British Independent Film Festival.
